During your visit, our highly skilled optometrists will engage in a thorough discussion regarding your vision and address any concerns you may have.
Our advanced technology allows us to precisely evaluate your visual acuity and identify any potential issues with your focusing abilities.
We conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the health of the front and back of your eyes, including a macula check. Should our optometrist determine the need for this scan, they will advise you accordingly.
As part of our commitment to comprehensive eye care, we conduct digital imaging of the retina, also known as a retinal photo, during every consultation.
Upon completion of the examination, our optometrist will provide you with a personalised and detailed summary of the findings and make informed decisions about any necessary treatments or further actions.
Our standard consultation typically takes approximately 20 to 30 mins, allowing us to conduct a thorough examination.
What will be the costs associated with my consultation?
Consultation
Charged to patients not eligible for bulk billing- We bulk bill all patients except for new patients who have been to another optometrist within the previous 3 years. If this is the case then you will be charged for the full consultation and you will be able to claim the rebate from medicare. However, after the initial consultation all subsequent consultations will be bulk billed as normal.
Digital Retinal Photos
Compulsory- A digital retinal image is taken for all of our patients. This photograph provides a baseline record for monitoring any future changes or conditions and can be provided to your GP or specialist by request. This amount is not eligible for a medicare rebate however, some (unfortunately not all) health funds private health funds do provide cover for these images although this cannot be claimed in store.
OCT Scan
Determined by Results- This scan is definitive in the diagnosis and monitoring of macular degeneration. Your optometrist will discuss with you if this scan is important for you for monitoring your eye health. This amount is not eligible for a medicare rebate however, some (unfortunately not all) health funds private health funds do provide cover for these images although this cannot be claimed in store.
